Wanted

All of the items on this page are ones that I need!

Do you have any Town cards, stickers or other ephemera which are not on this website?
Well then, why not contact me and see if we can do business?

BAINES shield
1915-1920s
Jack Cock first appeared in December 1914 but then, because of his war service, not again until late 1919 and was transferred to Chelsea in October 1919 amidst Town’s financial crisis; all of which dates this card to between those two years.

GODFREY PHILLIPS ‘Pinnace’ cards
There are still lots of the Godfrey Phillips ‘PINNACE’ medium and cabinet (postcard) sized cards out there that I need. Alan Worthington has kindly sent me scans of three of my missing medium-sized cards; the first two are ‘Black Oval back’ variety whilst the Wood card is an ‘Pinnace back’. The autograph would be an added bonus!

GODFREY PHILLIPS ‘Pinnace’ cards
These are the two Team Cabinet cards that I need but, in truth, I don’t ever expect to find.
The card at left shows the team immediately before play on the 12th March, 1921 at Aston Villa. I can be sure of this as it’s the only occasion when the featured players ever played together. The second card is the official Turton photograph for the 1921-22 season. It’s also worth noting that not every team was featured on two separate ‘Team Cards’ and I can only attribute Town’s luck in this department being down to the fact that they won the FA Cup in 1922, perhaps prompting the use of the second photograph.
(I am grateful to Matt Stevens for the use of the images for both of these extremely rare cards)

1926 COMPTONS Series B Gift Offerc1927 COMPTON’S GRAVY SALT
‘Football Clubs – Series B (Gift Offer)’
This is the THIRD set of 1926-27 which uses the ‘Series B’ pictures and has a message at the bottom reading ‘SEE OTHER SIDE’ (as with the black and white series ‘A’) and has another gift offer on the reverse, offering a knife or a choice of combs. The closing date for this offer was 30th June 1927 and I believe that these are the rarest of all the cards. I have certainly yet to find one.

c1928 PARRISH & SONS (Stamford)
‘Wetherdair Raincoats’ calendar card
1928 Parrish calendar 1This would appear to be a folding, possibly pocket-sized calendar which was probably issued around April 1928 as it features the two teams involved in the FA Cup Final of that year. I am uncertain as to how these images fit together; the two team pictures probably constituted the front and back, the advertising material the inside front and back, with the calendar itself a fold-out. It seems certain that it would have included the 1928 calendar as well, but that has not been included in the pictures.

1928 Parrish calendar 2

The item went to auction in February 2018 but I have no idea where or how much it fetched

GEO. JOHNSON & CO. LTD. (Leicester)
‘Football League First Division Souvenir’
This is a series of ‘plates’ from booklets published between 1932 and 1937. I already have those for seasons 1933-34 and 1934-35 but would be happy to receive the ones below if you have them.
(My grateful thanks go to Phil Martin for supplying these photographs)

Official Player Photocards
My thanks go to Town fan Brian Jenkins who has informed me that these postcards were sold c1965-66. I already have two or three from this set, but am now on the lookout for the ones shown here and any others that might be available. (Cards shown are Atkins, Coddington, Gilliver, McNab and Meagan)

1930s-1950s BENTLEY & SHAW’S BREWERY
HUB rareTown Ales’ brews bottle labels
There are several different ones out there. I have two small ones of ‘Town Major’ and ‘Town Bitter’ Pale Ale (which measure 5.8cm x 7.5cm) but I also need all of the ones shown below here. The larger ones measure 6.5cm x 8.5cm in reality and are also on my ‘wants’ list. I am presuming that there will also be both small and large versions of EVERY label shown here.

And finally, this is a real cracker! It’s an enamel advertising sign featuring the F.A. Cup trophy for Bentley & Shaw’s TOWN ALES, mounted in a double-glazed wooden frame, 915mm x 720mm which appeared in a 2016 auction with an estimated value of £250-£350.

Skippy1969 HUDDERSFIELD TOWN
Official Photocard
I have only ever seen one of these and I was outbid on it at auction (eBay), selling at £12.71
I would hazard a guess and say that there are almost none of these left in circulation as, in comparison to any player photocards, this wouldn’t have been as popular a purchase back in 1969.

1971 21st card1970s ANONYMOUS
21st Birthday Card
Strange item, yes I know, but I came across this when perusing the Got, Not Got blog and instantly recognised Bobby Hoy’s back as he takes what I believe to be a West Brom full-back to the cleaners. Judging by the colours I’d guess that it would be the 1971-72 season, Town’s last sojourn in the top flight.
I have no idea where or if I will ever find this and, no doubt, I will be forever searching eBay. I’ve already tried there with no success, but who knows? One day perhaps …

c1920 POSTCARD
W. L. Hardcastle
Hardcastle WL postcardWilliam Hardcastle was associated with Town in one way or another from the club’s birth in 1908 up until 1920 when he resigned; his letters of resignation can be seen in my VIRTUAL MUSEUM.
This autographed postcard appears in John Daniels’ book ‘Football Postcards’.
(My grateful thanks go to Phil Martin for providing the scan)

1951 Howe sticker1951 EDITRICE DIDASCO ‘Albosport’ (Italy)
Jack Howe
This is an exceedingly rare scan of a small unused sticker featuring Town player Jack Howe in what I presume is an England or Derby shirt. His very brief Town career – 29 appearances in 1950-51 – coincided with the release of this 675-sticker set in Italy as can be seen from the publication details below. I suspect that this is going to be well outside of my price range.
(My grateful thanks go to Carl Wilkes at rarecards.co.uk for providing the scans)
And you can read more about this set on Alan Jenkins’ great site by clicking HERE.

1990 PAYTEL £2 phonecard logoMERCURY PAYTELCO.
‘Football Teams’ (1990)
Huddersfield Town £2 phone card
This one is very unusual; it features the image from the £5 card but with a £2 price tag. It’s also quite clear that it has been officially ‘adapted’. I saw this for sale on eBay in March 2018 for £60.00!!

PANINI AMERICA

‘Football Australia Trading Cards 2017-2018’
Set of 200 base cards
I include this picture here as one that I will be on the lookout for, although I’m unlikely to ever get one. Full details of the series can be found HERE. Mooy also appears on card #14, a ‘Silver’ base card.

PANINI AMERICA
‘FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia Prizm’
Set of 300 base cards
… and then all sorts of ‘parallel’ cards which will sell for insane prices as evidenced by this Aaron Mooy card; he is the only Town player to be represented and this, a ‘Gold Power’ card number 4 of 5, sold on eBay in April 2018 for $149.00. And then there was the small matter of UK postage ($17.84) and import taxes ($36.46). Quite a hefty purchase!

2018 PANINI WC PRIZM 272 Mooy
According to the blurb on the back, Mooy “authored two goals” in Australia’s run to the WC Finals in Russia; I suppose that tells you all that you need to know about Panini’s intended market.

272 Mooy CYRILLIC

The hard to find Cyrillic parallel from this set; this card sold for £51 on eBay in June 2018.

And here are a few more 2018 Russia World Cup items that I would like to pin down if you see them…

There are probably HUNDREDS more Huddersfield Town cards out there which I don’t even know about, but here are the ones that I am aware of.
I have also included here all the Pinnace medium and cabinet ‘variants’ as well as the differently backed 1925 Barratt series, although I am not 100% sure that they were ever available as such.
