Going into this, Town’s most winnable remaining fixture, Rotherham had lost nine on the bounce, conceded ten goals in their last two games, and were cut adrift at the bottom of the league. Town couldn’t find even one goal. Thomas was sent off early in the second half and, on a day when several other results went in our favour, the failure to beat the division’s whipping boys left Town in great peril, third from bottom.
I now believe that the unthinkable is closer to becoming reality.
